On October 10th, the "Expert Appraisal Meeting of New Industrial Hemp Varieties Zhonghanma Series" was successfully held. The new industrial hemp varieties Zhonghanma No.2, Zhonghanma No.3 and Zhonghanma No.4, which were jointly bred by Yunnan Suma Bio-tchnology Co., Ltd. (SMBT) and Hemp Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, successfully passed the expert appraisal and added three new members to the high-quality germplasm resources of Zhonghanma. This series of new varieties has strong stability. With strong drought resistance and disease resistance, it can provide powerful germplasm resources for the development source of industrial hemp industry, improve the basic level of industrial hemp extraction and processing, broaden the context of China's industrial hemp industry market and create more utilization space.

The expert appraisal meeting was initiated by Yunnan Seed Management Station, and invited many experts from Yunnan Agricultural University, Quality Standards Institute of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Yunnan Agricultural Technology Extension General Station, Anti-drug Bureau of Yunnan Public Security Department and Economic Crop Research Institute of Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences to participate in the appraisal. The expert group conducted field appraisal and inspection on new industrial hemp varieties Zhonghanma No.2, Zhonghanma No.3 and Zhonghanma No.4, analyzed their growth, consulted relevant archives and carefully listened to the reports of breeding units. After questioning and discussion, the expert group unanimously agreed that these three new varieties had clear sources and breeding procedures, were specific, consistent and stable, and had strong disease resistance and drought resistance, and unanimously agreed to pass variety identification.

Professor Su Jianguang, the main reporter of the breeding unit, introduced the cannabinoid content (average value) of three new varieties:

Zhongma No.2: THC content of tetrahydrocannabinol is 0.16%, CBD content of cannabidiol is 3.22%.

Zhongma No.3: THC content of tetrahydrocannabinol is 0.17%, CBD content of cannabidiol is 4.22%.

Zhongma No.4: THC content of tetrahydrocannabinol is 0.18%, CBD content of cannabidiol is 4.29%.

Zhonghanma 3 and Zhonghanma 4 are all female varieties.

In particular, the expert group emphasized that the three new varieties of industrial hemp that passed the appraisal this time have reached the average level of industrial hemp varieties planted in North America, which is a new breakthrough in the breeding of industrial hemp medicinal direction, which will greatly meet the basic demand of industrial hemp application in biomedical field and provide a strong technical guarantee for the global competitiveness of China's industrial hemp industry.

It is understood that this appraisal meeting was held at Liangwangshan Industrial Hemp Research and Planting Base in Kunming, Yunnan, which is the first greenhouse planting base of industrial hemp in China built by SMBT. At the same time, leaders of well-known industrial hemp enterprises in Yunnan, such as Yunnan Industrial Hemp Industry Investment Co., Ltd., Kunming Agricultural Investment Development Investment Co., Ltd., Yunnan Kangma Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Tengchong Chenguang Yunma Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Yunnan Hanmeng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Huayun Jin Xin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., were invited to attend the meeting.

It is worth mentioning that the CBD content of Zhonghanma No.1 greatly exceeds the current domestic varieties, reaching more than 3% of field planting. From the perspective of CBD extraction, the CBD content of industrial hemp raw materials will increase, and the extraction cost will drop by more than 50%; The content of effective components in industrial hemp seeds not only directly affects the planting benefit, but also affects the overall competitiveness of China's industrial hemp industry.
